All directors sit on the Board and take a hands on approach to leading the organisation, ensuring that our mission and values guide every decision.

Samiya Zaidi – Responsible Individual and Director

Samiya brings over 11 years of experience in training and education within the fostering sector. Holding a master’s degree in Human Resources Management, she has a strong background in supporting and developing staff and foster carers, maintaining high standards of care and regulatory compliance. Samiya is committed to strengthening the agency’s mission and driving positive outcomes for children, young people, and fostering families.

Shams Zaidi – Registered Manager and Director

Shams oversees the day‑to‑day operations of Sunbeam Fostering Northwest, ensuring our services consistently meet the highest standards of care. He began his career as a social worker in the late 2000s, where, as a newly qualified practitioner, he learned to look beyond behaviour and procedures to truly understand each child and family within their broader emotional and social context.

These early experiences, grounded in social justice, equality, and anti‑oppressive practice, shaped his commitment to compassionate, relationship‑based social work. Today, as a Director and Registered Manager of a fostering service, Shams leads with warmth, empathy, and integrity. He is dedicated to supporting foster carers and championing safe, stable homes where children are protected, valued, and able to flourish.

Kiran Dhull (ACA) – Finance Director

Kiran leads the financial and strategic management of the agency. With extensive experience in financial audit for major organisations, including FTSE 100 companies, alongside financial management within the fostering sector, Kiran ensures that Sunbeam Fostering Northwest remains stable, sustainable, and able to provide robust support to carers and children. Her work helps create secure, nurturing homes backed by strong organisational foundations.

Areeba Haneef – HR Director

Areeba leads the HR function at Sunbeam Fostering Northwest, ensuring that staff and foster carers are supported, valued, and empowered to provide the highest quality care. With extensive experience in recruitment and HR management within social care, Areeba helps maintain a positive, supportive organisational culture that enables carers and staff to deliver nurturing and effective support to children and young people.

Adeeba Naseem (BFP – ACA) – Board Member and Director

As a Director and Board Member, Adeeba oversees the agency’s operational management, ensuring strong governance, high standards of care, and sustainable growth. With a background in finance, analytics, and financial audit, Adeeba provides expertise in strategic planning and compliance. Her work ensures the agency remains well managed, resilient, and focused on achieving the best outcomes for children, young people, and foster families.
