We offer comprehensive financial packages to give families peace of mind and a sense of security.

You’ll have access to bespoke online training, skills workshops, and support from local offices throughout your fostering journey.

Our Northwest office offers local support services for families and young people, including one-to-one therapeutic counselling.

We focus on matching children and young people with families who share similar interests and outlooks, helping both thrive together.

Children and young people fostered with us can receive a £500 grant to support hobbies and interests they wish to pursue.

Young people leaving care will have ongoing access to support through Sunbeam Northwest as they move into higher education and careers.

Start Your Fostering Journey

Explore the steps to becoming a foster carer and learn what to expect throughout the process.

Step 1

Initial Enquiry

Contact Sunbeam Fostering Northwest by submitting your details online, emailing us, or giving us a call.

Step 2

Telephone or Video Call

A member of our team will discuss your interest in fostering and answer any initial questions you may have.

Step 3

Home Visit

We’ll visit your home for a detailed conversation to get to know you and explore your fostering journey further.

Step 4

Fill Out Application Form

At this stage, you formally apply to become a foster carer and move closer to making a difference in a child’s life.

Step 5

Fostering Assessment

A dedicated social worker will assess your strengths and readiness to foster, working closely with you throughout.

Step 6

Presentation to Panel

You’ll meet with a panel to review and discuss your application before a final recommendation is made.

Step 7

Agency Decision

Following the panel’s review, a decision will be made regarding your approval to become a foster carer.

Step 8

Welcome to the Family

Once approved, your induction begins, marking the start of your journey as part of the Sunbeam Fostering Northwest family.
