Our Aims and Values
The core aims and values of Sunbeam Fostering Northwest are central to everything we do. They guide our commitment to providing exceptional care and support, and align with the values set out in the Fostering National Minimum Standards.
Please see the summary below:

1. Child Welfare
The welfare, safety, and needs of the child are at the centre of all care provided.
2. Enjoyable Childhood and Positive Outcomes
Every child deserves an enjoyable childhood filled with excellent parenting, education, and a wide range of opportunities. We aim to support children to develop their talents, build confidence, and achieve successful outcomes into adulthood.
3. A Loving Environment
Children are entitled to grow up in a loving and nurturing environment that meets their developmental needs. We work closely with foster carers to help create and maintain this supportive home life.
4. Being Listened To
Children should have their wishes and feelings heard, respected, and taken into account in decisions that affect their lives.
5. Importance of Relationships
The relationship between a child and their foster carer is vital. Foster carers are recognised as core members of the team working with the child.
Maintaining positive connections with birth parents, siblings, and extended family is also an important part of supporting a child’s identity and emotional wellbeing.

Every Child Matters
In our work with foster carers and children, we aim to deliver services and outcomes that reflect the core principles of Every Child Matters, including:
Be healthy
Stay safe
Enjoy and achieve
Achieve economic well being
Make a positive contribution
These five areas underpin everything we do as an agency and guide the support we provide to all children, young people, and foster carers.
